Birmingham on Rails is a forward thinking Ruby on Rails conference with the purpose of building a network of software professionals and educating them on the latest developments and uses of the Rails platform. Birmingham on Rails is based in Birmingham, AL and is focused on executing this mission in the Southeast.
The conference will be held at the McWane Science Center in downtown Birmingham on January 31st, 2020 with a social the night before. The social will feature short lighting talks, while the conference will have opening and closing keynotes with six 40 minute talks throughout the day.
CFP Description
The Birmingham on Rails conference is a Ruby on Rails focused conference.
We are looking for six 40 minute talks and multiple 5-10 minute lightning talks on anything related to:
- Rails features, deep dives, best practices, etc.
- Design patterns, refactoring, architecture
- DevOps topics involving Rails
- Databases topics with Rails context
- Personal development / human side of programming
- Closely related or other complementary topics
Talks can be targeted for any skill level, but talks that can be relevant to any skill level will be preferred as we want to be inclusive to all that may attend. Selection will occur prior to January 31, 2019. Speakers that are selected will be notified the first week of January.
