Bristech Conference 2018 is a one day conference to be held on Thursday 6th December 2018 at the Watershed, Bristol. The format is 18 speakers across three tracks i.e. 6 speakers per room.

Please check out our [promo video] ( for a flavour of the 2016 event (note - there was no event in 2017).

Previous speaker sessions can also be found on our Youtube channel.

The 400 delegates will be primarily made up of software professionals alongside company founders, domain specialists, tech enthusiasts and students.

The event is shaped by the selected talks; we purposely avoid a single theme for the event and so speaker topics may range widely across the software tech spectrum, including programming languages, cloud, web, distributed systems, devops tooling, frameworks, platforms and UX.

We look forward to reading your submission and will endeavour to give feedback to all speaker submissions.

CFP Description

What are we looking for in an ideal talk?

An ideal talk for Bristech Conference 2018 would be from a relevant and interesting technical topic brought to life by the enthusiasm and knowledge of the speaker through a blend of both theoretical context and hands-on practice.

Historically, talks have been loosely related to software topics but we would most certainly encourage “soft” tech topics that are not necessarily software based.

The audience want the detail: narrow and deep may be better than broad (but broad might work for certain topics too). Ours are a highly technical crowd, thirsty for knowledge and an understanding of how things work.

As engineers, they want to understand better ways of doing things and are adept at sharing knowledge, critiqueing differing approaches and team-based collaboration.

If further guidance is required or if you have questions concerning the submission of your selected topic, please don’t hesitate to reach out:

Good luck with your submission!
