CFP Description

CALL FOR SPEAKERS NOW OPEN – DEADLINE IS FRIDAY, NOVEMBER 22 AT MIDNIGHT, PST https://www.cvent.com/c/abstracts/69e78f68-8e66-4775-bf9b-ee17d9ff202e

1) PICK A PRESENTATION FORMAT

Sessions 20 minute presentations that explore a real-world solution. We want you to tell us: What is the solution? Why is the solution employed and what problem does it solve? The tech talk must also include a description of how the solution was built, what tools and methodologies were employed and, finally, what is the measure of the solution’s success.

Lightning talks 10 minute, demo-driven presentations that scratch the surface of a solution. These will be more intimate engagements that approach a topic from a high level, allowing for conversation and questions. Be innovative, think out of the box. Inspire us all, with lightning speed.

Workshops 45 or 90 minute sessions in a small group setting of no more than eight people. Participants are encouraged to bring their own computers — and let us all watch you code in real time during the workshop. Workshops are a terrific, hands-on way to have 1:1 communication with your audience. The smaller format makes it easier for attendees to ask questions and engage. Each accepted workshop will run twice, the first on day one and the second on day two.

2) CHOOSE A TECH TOPIC

TECH TOPIC 1 Automation, DevOps, and Enterprise Transformation Real time data, AI/ML, and programmable infrastructure are changing the way you do business. Making smart business decisions require data collection, analysis of that data, and visibility into data. What tools and methodologies help you make the right decisions? How are these new technologies used in the enterprise and what problems are they solving? What kind of data is generated and what business insights are created? And what challenges are you solving in your automation journey?

TECH TOPIC 2 Design, User Experience, and APIs Thoughtful design during a project results in an engaging and useful experience for your end user. This design work is not limited to the end solution but touches on the building blocks necessary to get to that end solution. What methods, tactics, and processes help you keep ‘user first’ in development experiences?

TECH TOPIC 3 IoT, Edge, and Mobile From the data center to IoT and mobile devices, applications and their infrastructure must evolve to meet the new demands of connected devices. Developers and architects have new decisions to make - where an application should run, how the application is deployed, and how to make the application secure. How are you making this a reality in your work environment?

TECH TOPIC 4 Show your OWN Cisco API Build You’ve created a killer app using Cisco platforms or maybe you have saved your team loads of time with an amazing automation workflow. This is YOUR opportunity to share your unique project to help educate and collaborate with your app and infrastructure peers. If you’ve completed a project that uses Cisco IoT, Security, Network, Collaboration, or Meraki APIs specifically, we want to hear from, build on and co-create with you. This topic will be delivered in a special format of 15 minutes for your presentation and 5 minutes for Q&A.
