Historically CommCon has been a very different conference to the others; a residential conference with everything under one ticket price, set in a beautiful countryside hotel in the UK. COVID-19 has completely changed the conference landscape but with communications at the heart of how people are dealing with the current situation, it’s important now, more than ever before, that we share the stories about building RTC experiences which are literally keeping businesses running and families connected.

CommCon Virtual is different to other virtual conferences - it wouldn’t be in the spirit of CommCon if it wasn’t. We haven’t just moved a conference schedule online - the world doesn’t work like that when you’re not at a conference venue, sitting down to listen to a speaker - you may be 5 timezones from where the conference is being “held” and it be impossible to take part in any real conversation throughout the event. Instead, we’re planning on releasing 4 talks every day for a week on YouTube - 2 of those will be keynotes, 15 will be speaker-driven talks, and the remaining 3 will be interviews with our Platinum Sponsors with Q&A sessions with the speaker after every session.

CFP Description

CommCon is a WebRTC and a VoIP event. People want to know about what’s new and maybe what you’ve been up to during the COVID-19 pandemic to help your users.

Speakers will be loaned all of the equipment needed to get fantastic quality video and audio. The sessions will be pre-recorded and pre-mixed, uploaded to YouTube and premiered at set times. You’ll be able to do as many takes as you want, or as little as you want; with the raw footage being uploaded/sent to a professional team who will then mix it into the finished format for you. We expect speakers to be available after their “showing” on YouTube to be able to take questions from those watching.

The CFP is a very short one in order to be able to send any equipment that is needed to speakers and sponsors and get the footage edited and uploaded to YouTube in time for a mid July airing.
