CFP Description

Enterprise Agility Europe 2020 Call for Proposals

Enterprise Agility Europe 2020 is seeking proposals for talks and workshops to build the best program yet. Some speakers will also be invited. There are very few speaking slots available, so it is critical that you make a strong proposal.

Note: Proposals are also considered for other conferences in the Kanban University conference franchise, so you may be approached to deliver your talk or workshop at another Kanban University event even if it is not accepted for EAE20.

Note: The review and feedback process starts as soon as you submit your proposal. Your chances for acceptance are greatly improved by submitting early as you’ll receive more feedback and support to finesse your proposal.

What are we looking for in a proposal? Sessions should be about Kanban applied to improve Enterprise Agility. Topics such as the application of the Kanban Maturity Model, Fit for Purpose or Enterprise Services Planning are certainly appropriate. We look both for insight and pragmatic application. Attendees want to learn about the context, starting point, the goals, the approach taken to achieve the goals, how well they were met, surprises and key takeaways with time in the session for questions and answers. Specific techniques are especially encouraged. We suggest that session proposers allow 10 to 15 minutes for questions and answers.

Presentations and conference behavior should be aligned to the Kanban values of Respect, Understanding, Agreement, Leadership, Flow, Customer Focus, Transparency, Balance, Collaboration. Respect is key. We need to respect presenters and participants. Kanban respects what people do today and provides them the tools to make evolutionary change. There is no room for attacks against alternative approaches.

Types of sessions. We will run 2 types of sessions: talks and workshops.

  • Talks are 50 minutes long. While generally lecture style, we encourage engaging the audience.
  • Workshops can be of 3 different durations - 50, 110, or 180 minutes long. They are interactive sessions with significant audience participation.

We are looking for sessions ranging across three broad experience levels:

  • Kanban Foundations
  • Intermediate: Effective Practices
  • Advanced: Developing Organizational Capability

Please indicate which of these best describes your session.

Sessions on broad Agile topics (retrospectives, SAFe, etc) or project management topics will not be accepted unless they are relevant to combining techniques with Kanban. Talks and workshops must be relevant for an audience of people actively practicing Kanban. We generally do not accept talks on ideas, theoretical experiments or broad social engineering. We look for content that has actually been applied in the field.

Who should submit a proposal? Anyone with practical application of Kanban is a candidate for a great topic at this conference. We try to assemble the most diverse conference we can, and we do that with your help.

The Kanban community is stronger than ever and we’re still reaching new areas, new industries, and new users. Be a part of growing Kanban by helping us change the future and share your experience.

You don’t need to be a well traveled professional speaker to get on stage at Kanban Global Summit. We welcome first timers and will work with you to make you feel at home. We also engage our experienced speakers to work with less experienced speakers to share their wisdom and help put together the best delivery possible.
