flatMap(Oslo) is an annual conference in Oslo, Norway. From the beginning in 2011 we have focused on functional programming in general and Scala in particular. Last year’s conference was yet another great success with about 100 energized attendants, listening to 26 amazing speakers from all over the world.

The next conference will be on May 8th and 9th 2019. The goal for this year is the same. Small and intimate, but with high ambitions. We hope you will join us!

flatMap(Oslo) is organized by a group of developers from Arktekk AS, a small independent consultancy based in Oslo, Norway. Together with our awesome sponsors we work hard to give you a conference tailored for enthusiasts of Scala and functional programming in general.

The economic goal for flatMap(Oslo) is to break even. We will put all funds into making the conference better. If you have any questions, or would like more information, do not hesitate to contact us.

CFP Description

Please help us make flatMap(Oslo) awesome by submitting a talk or workshop!

It would be ideal if your submission ticks one of these boxes:

  • Inspire the audience to reach new heights. Abstractions, techniques, research, etc
  • Give the audience new tools in their toolbox, things they can use right away for fun and profit

This year we would especially welcome submissions on the following:

  • Applied FP / experience reports
  • Scala in Big Data / Machine Learning
  • Dotty / Scala 3
  • FP in other languages
  • anything that you are truly passionate about

Remember that there are attendees at all levels - entry level talks are always welcome as well!

Talks are 40 minutes long. Workshops can be longer (Tell us how much time you will need)

Submissions will be accepted continuously until March 1st 2019, which means submitting early increases your chance of being accepted.

More than one speaker?

PaperCall seems to have less than stellar support for this, but please tell us in a comment field.
