JFuture is an engineering conference in Minsk. 1 day, 2 tracks. The conference aims to provide high quality content for backend engineers, who primarily use Java for their work, open source and hobby projects. At JFuture we are combining Java with emerging technologies, science and art.

We believe that diversity of speakers and topics will make our event better.

VENUE

We host the event in a beautiful Kupalauski Theatre venue in the very centre of Minsk. Professional show equipment is available for every speaker: full HD projector (1920*1200pxl), professional sound system, your laptop on the stage, video-production. The video of the talks will be shared for free with attendees and community worldwide.

As a special treat — an authentic theatre show for the guests of JFuture conference directed by contemporary Belarusian author and performed by professional actors of the theatre as part of afterparty performance. Healthy whole food catering, lunch and beverages will be available during the conference day.

We are looking forward to your submissions

CFP Description

At JFuture we are looking for the following content types: talks, keynote talks, workshops.

The opening keynote topic in 2018 is "Java in Space tech". Though we have reached out to a few amazing representatives of science and tech for space industry, you can take your chances to submit a keynote talk.

The main track is focused on major updates of Java and popular Java frameworks. We will also welcome best engineering practices at satellite technologies. What we are looking for in major track:

  • Java Platform
  • Modularity
  • Spring
  • Kotlin
  • ...

The second track is dedicated to emerging technologies and soft skills for engineers. You can submit your talk to the second track if it meets one of the following topics:

  • Data driven product development
  • IoT and smart environment
  • Rust
  • Visual technologies, art and design
  • Startups and investment
  • Space and Astronomy
  • Bio technologies
  • Healthcare
  • Automotive

Also we’re looking for workshops authors on the above mentioned topics:

  • hands-on sessions
  • 3-4h long
  • classroom seating

JFuture aims to provide the community with the best resources on Java every year.

Your proposals should include as many details as possible about the topic and format for the presentation. Vague and overly broad proposals don’t showcase your skills and knowledge. The more you can tell us, the more likely the proposal will be selected.

Selected speakers will get:

  • Invitation to a pre-party and after-party dinners with the leaders of Java community
  • Invitation to a short tour around Minsk
  • Paid hotel for 2 nights (unless your company covers the expenses)
  • Reimbursed plane tickets (unless your company covers the expenses)
  • Lunch at the conference
  • Visa invitation if needed (no visa is needed if you arrive for up to 5 days)

The audience - 500+ Java & related technologies engineers (all levels, but mostly mid-senior developers).
