About LKNA16 Lean Kanban North America is for managers, team leads, consultants and executives who want to more reliably deliver the products and services their customers demand.

We share experience reports and techniques on how to achieve improved business agility through faster, more predictable and more flexible service delivery.

The conference looks for significant contributions to practical application of Lean Kanban to improve service delivery. The aim of the conference is to provide a platform to the practitioners to meet and share experiences and cutting-edge development in the field.

CFP Description

LKNA18 Call for Proposals: Lean Kanban North America is seeking proposals for sessions and workshops to build the best program yet. Some speakers will also be invited.
There are very few speaking slots available. Even if your presentation is strong, we can only select a few submissions.

Proposals are also considered for other conferences in the Lean Kanban conference franchise, so you may be approached to deliver your talk or workshop at another Lean Kanban event even if it is not accepted for LKNA18.

Note: Most sessions and workshops at this conference are by invitation. Therefore, we have very few slots available for CfP submissions. When the program is full, CfP submissions will only be accepted as back-up options in case a scheduled talk must be dropped.

Note: The review and feedback process starts as soon as you submit your proposal. Your chances for acceptance is greatly improved by submitting early as you’ll receive more feedback and support to finesse your proposal.

What are we looking for in a proposal? Sessions should be about Lean Kanban or connected to it. We look both for insight and pragmatic application. Attendee want to learn about the context, starting point, the goals, the approach taken to achieve the goals, how well they were met, surprises and key takeaways with time in the session for questions and answers. We suggest that session proposers allow 10 to 15 minutes for questions and answers.

We are looking for sessions ranging across three broad experience levels:

  • Kanban Foundations
  • Intermediate: Effective Practices
  • Advanced: Developing Organizational Capability
  • Please indicate which of these best describes your session.

Talks on broad Agile topics (retrospectives, SAFe, etc) or project management topics will not be accepted unless they are relevant to combining techniques with Kanban. Sessions and workshops must be relevant for an audience of people actively practicing Kanban. We also will generally not accept talks on ideas or theoretical experiments. We look for content that has actually been applied in the field.

Who should submit a proposal? Anyone with practical application of Lean Kanban is a candidate for a great topic at this conference. We try to assemble the most diverse conference we can, and we do that with your help.

The Kanban community is stronger than ever and we’re still reaching new areas, new industries, and new users. Be a part of growing Kanban by helping us change the future and share your experience.

You don’t need to be a well travelled professional speaker to get on stage at Lean Kanban North America. We welcome first timers and will work with you to make you feel at home. We also engage our experienced speakers to work with less experienced speakers to share their wisdom and help put together the best delivery possible.
