RAX.IO is a five-day, annual summit for the internal Rackspace tech community: for Rackers, by Rackers.

This year’s theme is “Building a Better Rackspace”.

As Rackers, we need to teach and learn from one another. We want to encourage the attitude of looking beyond ourselves and applying that team-oriented attitude to every level of what we do at Rackspace.

We need to share ideas and experiences. Putting faces to names helps us build relationships. One of our strengths as a company is that we build strong relationships and use them to build a strong foundation to achieve great outcomes for ourselves and our customers.

CFP Description

Come share your experiences or ideas for improvement of our systems, workflows, customer experiences, or anything else, and help us Build a Better Rackspace. You can submit as many ideas as you like based on the following themes:

What kind of talks or workshops are you looking for?

There are a few tracks to consider for potential RAX.IO speakers. You can submit a talk about ways you created transformation at Rackspace, a talk about what you are doing to create transformation right now, or a talk about ideas you have to create future transformation at Rackspace.

Potential focus areas for your talk could include:

  • Products or solutions that are being or have been developed.
  • Operational efficiencies that are being generated through operations, testing, support, or development work.
  • Methods of creating automation or solving tech debt.
  • Methods for breaking down information silos.

How long should my proposed session be?

  • Talks: 40 minutes including Q&A.
  • Workshops: 2 hours including instruction, hands-on time, and Q&A.
  • Panels: Have a panel idea? Feel free to submit that idea as a regular talk.

How does the selection process work?

After the Call for Proposals ends, a panel of Rackers will review the proposals and score them on a scale of 1 to 5 stars for how likely they would be to attend the session. We select as many proposals as we can to fill all available slots during the conference, starting with the top scoring proposals.

How many proposals can I submit?

You can submit as many talks as you wish.

When will I hear that my session is selected?

We will send you an email informing you if your talk has been by September 6, 2018.

What if I want to share, but talks and workshops are not my style?

Talking and teaching opportunities will include Lightning Talks, Panels, General Sessions and informal talks during Unconference sessions.
