RoboCon is an annual gathering for the Robot Framework community. It provides a great opprotunity to learn from the experts, hear how the framework is used in different places, and most importantly, meet fellow Robot Framework users as well as its developers. This year we will be having an online edition of our conference. The conference will be filled with interesting content building upon previous years making this the best RoboCon ever! We will have a single track for the event throughout multiple days. All presentations will be pre-recorded with a live Q&A after the presentation.

The initial schedule for the event week is:

  • Mon, March 15: Workshops
  • Tue, March 16: Conference day 1
  • Wed, March 17: Conference day 2
  • Thu, March 18: Conference day 3

RoboCon is organized by Robot Framework Foundation and all profits are used for supporting Robot Framework development and community. For more information about the conference visit http://robocon.io/.

CFP Description

Would like to share the fellow community something from the stage on the conference day, or organize a workshop? Great!

Conference presentations

The main conference is presented from Tuesday, March 16 to Thursday, March 18, 2021. Your presentation can be anything Robot Framework related such as case studies, technical demos, war stories, business cases, culture talks, etc. Proposals focusing on other topics for example; test automation, RPA or CI/CD in general are also fine, if they have some connection to Robot Framework. Totally unrelated proposals are rejected without further review.

You can view previous RoboCon videos for extra inspiration.

All presentations are 25 minutes long including Q&A, 20 minutes recorded talk plus 5 minutes live Q&A. Talks will be streamed to the audience at a predefined time and the presenter is expected to be present in the live Q&A afterwards. Presentations will also be available for the conference participants freely during the conference week so they can watch them also if the streaming time is not good for them. All presentations, including the Q&A, will be posted to YouTube some time after the conference. Submitting a proposal is considered an indication that publishing the recorded presentation is allowed.

Workshops

Workshops are organized on Monday, March 15, 2021, a day before the main conference. Workshops will run during European time. We are going to have half and full day workshops and the topics can be anything Robot Framework related, such as getting started with the framework, using a specific library, discussion about characteristics of a good test case, and so on. Proposals focusing on other topics such as test automation or RPA in general, Python programming, and so on are also fine, as long as they have some connection to Robot Framework. Totally unrelated proposals are rejected without further review.

Workshops are also line online workshops so the material should be suitable for online training. When proposing a workshop, explain in the Notes field additional details such as the targeted number of participants, what equipment participants should have (installed software, specific tools, etc.).

Lightning Talks

Lightning talks will be presented during the conference. The lightning talk will be pre-recorded and limited to 5 minutes. There will be no live Q&A following the lightning talk.
