Scalabase is a free conference for developers in the early stages of their Scala journey, designed to be a welcoming and safe space.

When: October 28th - the week prior to ScalaCon

The conference features talks specifically aimed at developers in the early stages of their careers in Scala and most of our speakers are giving talks for the first time.

We’re currently looking for people like you to give a talk! We will pair each speaker with a mentor who can help you shape your talk and give you pointers and tips.

CFP Description

All Scalabase talks should be aimed at developers with less than three years of experience using Scala. Talks should be around 25 - 35 minutes in length.

Talks could address of variety of topics including, but not limited to:

  • Common mistakes and how to address them
  • A beginner level talk on using a particular library or toolset
  • Anything you’ve learned so far in your career that may help beginner Scala developers
  • Any tips and tricks to deal with specific errors
  • Book or instructional course reviews that have helped you learn Scala
