Software Freedom Day 2017 is approaching, let’s tell people about it! Software Freedom Day (aka SFD) is a yearly event organized all around the world by open source enthusiasts. The idea of SFD is for everyone without a vested interest in proprietary software to unite and educate the world about the ideals of Software Freedom and the practical benefits of Free Software. August 28th, 2004, was the first ever Software Freedom Day. And since then it is organized every year around the globe with ever increasing participants. This year it will be organized in September 2017, at Panjab University, Chandigarh.
