SG Virtual Conference is a free online conference for software developers. It is a day of webinars where software professionals share knowledge, experience and perspectives with colleagues and students in the field.

SG Virtual Conference #14 will take place on May 9th, 2018.

This is the 14th edition of this event, which we hold twice a year. Sessions usually have between 300 and 1,000 attendees. The audience is a mix of software professionals and undergraduate students in information technology (50+ schools screen the conference in an auditorium and give extra credit to students who attend the sessions). Most of the audience is from Latin America.

This edition will be focused on DevOps. We want to hear about practices, tools, case studies for improving the performance of a software development organization through DevOps. However, if you want to propose a session on a topic not related to DevOps that you think would be of interest for this audience, feel free to propose it under the “other” track and we will evaluate it.

Tracks

We plan to have 3 tracks: - DevOps Culture. - DevOps Tooling. - Other interesting stuff.

If you want to propose a session on a topic not related to DevOps that you think would be of interest for this audience, feel free to propose it under the “other” track and we will evaluate it.

Duration of sessions

All sessions have one-hour slots. Talks should be planned for 30-50 minutes. At the end of the talk, there will be Q&A with participants.

Language

Most of the audience are native spanish speakers. So, sessions will preferably be presented in spanish but if not possible then english is fine. If you plan to present in spanish, please provide your title & abstract in spanish, otherwise do it in english.

Commercial content

We expect content to have an objective and vendor-neutral focus. We will not accept sessions used to promote commercial tools offered by vendors. If you are a vendor and would like to do this, you can purchase a sponsored session, contact us for information.

Webinar tool

The tool that we use for the webinars is clickmeeting. It runs entirely in the browser, and has the features that you would expect (slides, whiteboard, polls, desktop sharing). Once your session is accepted, we will contact you to schedule a one-on-one dry run with the tool so that you are familiar with it before the day of the conference.
