Bio

Phil Wilkins has spent over 25 years in the software industry with a breadth of experience in different businesses and environments, from multinationals to software start-ups end-user businesses to consultancies working with UK and internationally known brands and organizations. Phil started as a developer on real-time mission-critical solutions and has worked his way up through technical and development leadership roles, primarily in Java-based environments.

Phil is part of the Oracle product management team as a Cloud Developer Evangelist focusing on APIs, Kubernetes, Functions and related cloud-native offerings in OCI. My role is to develop resources and demonstrate how to best use OCI cloud-native services to developers and software architects using or considering OCI services.

This outbound role builds upon Phil’s experience from designing, developing and delivering successful real-world solutions, along with his passion for sharing knowledge through authoring or books, journals and blogs. As well as presenting at conferences around the world.

This background means I can support people in getting to grips with Oracle Cloud Native offerings and how ideas and technologies can be communicated to a technical audience.

Outside of his work commitments, technical knowledge supports others in various activities, from developing local community websites to providing input and support to developing technical books (Packt Publishing, Thomas Erl (Prentice-Hall), etc.

Phil is TOGAF certified and previously recognized by Oracle as an Ace Director.
