Israel Olatunji Tijani is a decorated information technology expert with over 10 years of experience in the tech space where he has leveraged emerging technologies to deliver solutions tailored around corporate needs. He bagged several industry certifications which set him apart in the field. Certified by Cisco in Cybersecurity, Google in Digital and Strategic Marketing, Microsoft in Azure Cloud Architecture, EC-Council in Computer Forensics Best Practices with working knowledge on the concepts of networking, storage, computing, application support, and application development.
He is an alumnus of Pan-Atlantic University, Lagos Nigeria where he studied Human Resource and Marketing Management.
He recently won a Pan-African Hackathon where he developed an API-as-a-Service solution that uses an API call to communicate to a database live data feeds and visualize it with a focus on COVID-19 vaccination data across Africa.
Israel is currently a volunteer for Andela and Microsoft 4 Africa Skill Lab where he is serving as a mentor to 25 tech enthusiasts, preparing them for their certification examination in Microsoft Azure Artificial Intelligence (AI-900) While using his skills and experience, in mid-2020, Israel with the support from BudgIT developed a web application that aggregate and visualize COVID-19 donations in Nigeria to promote transparency and empower active citizens with data required to demand accountability on COVID-19 resources from the government.
Israel’s programming skillset in languages such as C++, python and R programming language earned him a spot at the Cohort 1 of the Facebook developer circles and Andela’s BuildforSDGChallenge2020 program where he teamed up with other developers from Africa to build an LMS to address SDG 4 (Quality Education) which enhance remote learning for students during the lockdown.
Israel has won project grants from organizations such as United Nations World Data Forum, Orodata Science and Transparency International, Kenya.
He is passionate about SDGs, the future of work (AI and Robotics), citizens’ engagement, climate change, and emerging technologies.
