Elevator Pitch
What is the ideal developer experience and toolchain for kubernetes? It doesn’t exist yet, but the community is working on it. This talk summarizes the current state and problems for developers on kubernetes. Then we cover possible ways to address those issues with both practices and tools.
Description
What does the ideal developer experience and toolchain look like for kubernetes? It doesn’t exist yet, but the community is working on it. With kubernetes as the de facto standard for new application developers are hungry for a good - better! - experience. This talk will first summarize the current state and opportunities, rather, problems for developers on kubernetes. It will then give an overview of possible ways to address those issues with both practices and tools, many of them open source.
Notes
Why is this talk important? People working on kubernetes are starting to work on making usage easier for developers, and more and more developers are creating cloud native applications. I’d like to create the start of a list of developer needs, ways they’ve been solved in the past, and some of the approaches people are using to put those ideas in place.
