🌱 Conference Overview BSides Bloomington is an inclusive, community-driven information security conference designed to foster sharing, learning, and networking among security professionals, students, and enthusiasts at every stage of their careers. Our goal is to build a vibrant community that encourages diverse perspectives, practical knowledge, and collaborative innovation.

🎶 What is “BSides”? In music, a “b-side” is a term from the era of vinyl records that refers to a secondary recording, often overlooked yet valued by enthusiasts. Similarly, Security BSides was co-founded in 2009 by Jack Daniel, Chris Nickerson, and Mike Dahn after their submissions were rejected by a prominent DefCon event. Determined to offer more inclusive and accessible platforms for researchers and security professionals, they created Security BSides.

Today, Security BSides is a global phenomenon, providing a framework adopted by an international network of unique, community-led conferences. Each BSides event maintains its own distinct personality, yet all are united by a common mission: to make information security knowledge-sharing accessible, collaborative, and enjoyable.

BSides Bloomington proudly continues this tradition, bringing together experienced professionals, newcomers, and students to explore and celebrate the past, present, and future of information security.
