BSides Newcastle is the weirdest InfoSec event out there. For our first event we held a 1 day event in a skate park and had a blast even though we were frozen. Last year we went virtual with a 2 day event with speakers from 4 continents. This year we go hybrid offering both the coverage of the virtual events and the opportunity for live events again.
This year we plan on running as a hybrid conference with one track streamed live on our IRL stage and one streaming live via our Virtual stage on gather.town .
This years swag plans will include a return of the BSidesNcl preserves and maybe a northern treat or two.

BSides Newcastle is the weirdest InfoSec event out there, for our first event was a 1 day event in a skate park and had a blast even though it was frozen, last year we went virtual with a 2 day event covering 4 continents, this year we go hybrid offering both the coverage and the opportunity for live events again.
Rather than list requirements and specify a theme I leave this relatively open, community interest and well-being all the way to demonstrations of your latest tools to advanced mathematical proofs on encryption to robots AI and why we all love our future overlords of humanity to lock-picking and breaking in to the industry we really like to keep an open view on submissions.

Plan is for 2 tracks one physical and one virtual with a rookie section reserved on both tracks
