Due to COVID-19, we “try” to meet every Thursday from 6:00 PM - 7:30 PM Eastern or Saturday from 11:30 AM - 12:30 PM Eastern to speak about various topics under the cybersecurity umbrella. With over 9,000 members in our group, it is a great way to give back while gaining exposure. There is a battle being fought in cyberspace. We all, knowingly or unknowingly, participate in this battle every day. The ubiquitous convenience of our digital world has also created an extensive environment of targets for individuals and organizations with malicious intent. Preparing everyone to fight in this battle is our passion and inspiration behind creating our meetup group, the D.C. Cybersecurity Professionals.

Founded in 2012, we discuss the latest #infosec topics and conduct hands-on offensive and defensive sessions at the unclassified level. Our dedication to the community has allowed the group to grow to over 9,000 members.

Our Organizer, Mr. Tyrone E. Wilson, is an information security professional with 24 years of experience in information technology and systems configuration, including information systems and network security. Wilson also has extensive knowledge in computer network defense, vulnerability assessments, cyber threat analysis, and incident response. As a former cybersecurity analyst for the United States Army, Wilson developed security structures to protect American intelligence systems from foreign threats. Currently, Wilson is the Founder and President of Cover6 Solutions, which teaches companies and professionals various aspects of information security, penetration testing, and IPv6.
