ABOUT

DEVCON 2016 is structured around Java modularity, rapid application development, Open Source digital experience platforms as well as many supporting and emerging (both front-end and back-end) technologies and brings together over 500 people from all over Europe. This year we are hosting a Modularity Conference as part of the Liferay Developer Conference on Day 1 of DEVCON.

DEVCON & Modularity Conference talks are about sharing best practices, insights, learnings and innovations from Liferayor Modularityprojects.

Modularity Conference welcomes talks on following topics *

  • Java modularity concepts: OSGi, Java 9 (Jigsaw), Java frameworks and libraries related to modularity
  • Web modularity: WebComponents, JavaScript modularity, front-end frameworks and libraries
  • Reactive/modular JVM programming: Anything related to other languages than Java running on the JVM, tools, libraries and best practices
  • Methodology & Architecture: Software development methodologies, architectures & best practices to develop clean modular software
  • IoT: If you have a story to tell about developing in IoT projects, experience reports about building IoT solutions or new open source projects for IoT
  • Building and testing modules: Share your experience regarding modularity support in developer tools (Maven, Gradle, Bnd, JUnit, Gulp, …)
  • Modularity for DevOps/Clouds: Examples, tools, lessons learned, … regarding deploying and managing modular applications in various production environments

we can’t accept any further submissions for Liferay talks or workshops. The Modularity conference Call for Papers is stil running until September 7th.

How to submit your proposal?

  • Click on the "Speak at DEVCON & MODCONF" button at the bottom of this Event overview page.
  • If you don’t have an account you will be asked to create one (alternatively use the social log-in options). Make sure to update your speaker profile.
  • Once logged-in, fill in the form your talk’s title, abstract and description.
    • If you are submitting to Modularity Conference, please make sure to choose Modularity Conference Talk or Modularity Conference Workshop as talk type!
    • Use “Notes” field to provide additional information to the program committee. This information will not be available to attendees.
    • Please use the tags provided to categorize your talk!
  • The “Profile Details” section should be automatically filled with data from your profile. You can change it if you wish.
  • Please mention your job title in the “Bio” section

WHEN is the Submission Deadline?

  • DEVCON Call for Papers ends at 20:00 on Friday, August 12, 2016 / Modularity Conference Call for Paper ends on Wednesday September 7, 2016.
  • Early Bird Publications: Before the submission deadline, program committee can accept interesting talks and publish them on the conference website. Don’t wait until last moment!
  • Full agenda Announcement on Wednesday, September 14, 2016

Submitter benefits

  • Every submitter of a talk that gets accepted by the program committee, will receive a free ticket to DEVCON
  • Every submitter whose talk won’t be accepted, can still claim a ticket for the price rate that was valid, when he/she submitted the paper. (Please reach out to the Events Team if you have questions about that)
