dev up is the premier St. Louis developer conference, put on for developers by developers. Our primary audience is the developer community and the ecosystem around developers. It turns out that this developer ecosystem is HUGE. Developers, architects, business analysts, testers, infrastructure, UX, gamers, DBAs, data gurus – everyone attends!
2017 is our 10th annual event. We’ve sold out for the last several years to over 1,100 attendees. This year, we’ve moved venues so that even more attendees can come and experience what dev up has to offer!
October 16-17, 2017.
Note that for 2017, the conference is on Monday/Tuesday/Wednesday. What has been typically called “precompilers” will now be held on the LAST day of the conference instead of the first day. Monday and Tuesday will be the primary session days with a few workshops thrown in the mix.
To accommodate the increased attendance demand, we are changing venues for 2017 – take note of the changes!

Our primary audience is the developer community and the ecosystem around developers. If you have a topic of interest to that ecosystem, we’d love to see your submission. Don’t limit your submissions to our little box of what we’ve asked for – feel free to submit anything you think our audience would want to hear! We love fresh and new talks. We’re open to leading-edge and bleeding-edge talks too. Inspire us. Excite us. Bring it on!
Traditionally, areas of interest are development tools, development methodology, languages, database, testing, DevOps, UX, management, soft skills, Big Data, cloud, etc. Here is a list of technologies that we’d love to hear about:
- DevOps (process, tools, Continuous Delivery, Continuous Integration, etc)
- .NET (general, web, UWP, etc)
- SPA frameworks (Angular, React, Vue, etc)
- General web stuff (HTML, CSS, best practices, etc)
- Functional programming
- Big Data, Small Data, Average Data, Cloud Data
- Analytics & Data Science
- Machine Learning & Artificial Intelligence
- Containers (Docker, Kubernetes, etc)
- Virtual, Mixed, Augmented Reality
- Soft Skills (communication, leadership)
We are primarily looking for one hour sessions but also have workshop style half-day and full-day slots available. There are no official “tracks” during submission, but sessions may be generally categorized on the agenda presented to attendees.
We cover two nights’ hotel for out of town speakers who present two or more sessions. Speakers providing workshops on Wednesday will have three nights covered. However, we’re not able to offer other travel assistance to session speakers.
