Kotlin/Everywhere Chicago will be on Aug 23, 2019 at the 1871 space inside the Merchandise Mart (222 Merchandise Mart Plaza, Chicago, IL). This conference is cosponsored by JetBrains, GDG Chicago, Pivotal, and Chicago Kotlin User Group.

This is a part of a series of community-led events, where you can learn the essentials and best practices of Kotlin in Android, Google Cloud Platform, and multi-platform development. It is a half-day event. There will be a workshop, lightning talks, short talks (20-30 min), and full length (40-50 min) talks.

CFP Description

Suggested topics include: Coroutines, Refactoring to Kotlin, Functional Kotlin, DSLs, Android Kotlin Performance Patterns, Coroutines in Android, How Kotlin changes structure of Android apps, Kotlin in the cloud w/ GCP, Debugging and Monitoring a Kotlin Cloud App, Intro to Kotlin/Native, How to set up a multiplatform project, Sharing libraries between backend and Android, but we welcome any topic related to Kotlin.

Topics which highlight the use of Kotlin on multiple platforms are especially desired.

Attendees will have a wide variety of Kotlin levels, so accommodating beginner or intermediate level audiences is ideal. The majority of attendees will be coming from a Java background, and we expect about half to have Android backgrounds, with the other half coming from server-side, desktop, and web backgrounds.

The CFP is an anonymous selection process. Feel free to submit multiple talks. If we select multiple from the same speaker, we will pick one.
