Have you ever thought that the future is now? Look around.
We’ve moved from basic consumer internet to extremely powerful computers in our pockets in less than thirty years. The world’s information, our social circles, and business from small to gigantic are all accessible to us at any literally instant during our day.
Technology is accelerating. In this era of hyper-connectivity, human collaboration no longer knows the bounds of geography or language. Software for nearly any application can be built on top of open-source tools that are accessible to humans with the drive to create it. Augmented and Virtual Reality are no longer niche / novelty technologies; given as holiday presents and used in offices for entertainment, exploration, and connection. Artificial Intelligence and Large Language Models made powerful technology accessible to people that aren’t technologists, amplifying their ability to interact with the world around them.
What comes next? Quantum computing promises to exponentially increase humanities processing power, nuclear fusion could feed our energy needs while protecting our planet. Science is operating at light speed across an incredible amount of widely accessible data. All could be harnessed to elevate the human experience.
We can’t predict what humans will do with technology in the next thirty years, but we know it will be a much different world than today.
Let’s get tactical…perhaps the next five years is close enough that we can have some tangible discussions around trends we see today and where they are going.
Maybe wrapping our heads around this pace of change is required to make sure we’re actively shaping our worlds in the best way for ourselves, the people around us, and humanity at large.
NextFive. Let’s have the conversation.
The world of technology is constantly evolving, and it can be hard to keep up with the latest trends. That’s why we’re excited to announce our upcoming conference, Next Five.
