SLOConf - The Service Level Objective Conference for Site Reliability Engineers is opening a Call for Proposals (CFP) to share your ideas for consideration. The CFP closes on February 28th, 2022 at Midnight, Eastern Time.

The world wants to share and learn about SLOs and who are we to stop them? Building on the success of SLOconf 2021, we’re bringing back the virtual conference to our community! This is an attend-while-you-work event, scheduled for May 9-12th 2022 aimed for reliability engineers, enthusiasts, and anyone else who gets excited about reliability to gather and talk about SLOs in depth.

Format:
- Call for presentations: 5-10 minute pre-recorded videos, curated by program committee
- Slack discussion area (hosted by Beyond Seattle SRE Meetup)
- Optional kickoff/close zoom, live Q&A Panel
- Maximally inclusive, attend-while-you-work, focused on learning all about Service Level Objectives (and closely related concepts: error budgets, service level indicators [SLIs], Slogicians).
- Strict no sales pitch policy

Note: SLOConf is not a replacement for important related big topics like observability or incident response, DevOps, or even SRE. This event is focused on SLOs.

CFP Description

Like last year, SLOconf will primarily be a series of 5-10 minute prerecorded videos to be shared in a virtual environment.

There are four tracks at this year’s SLOconf:
1. SLO Basics - Help people new to SLO-based approaches learn how to get started!
2. SLOs for Everyone - SLOs aren’t just for engineers. We are looking for talks about how they can be defined and used by any organization: product, sales, QA, etc!
3. SLO Stories - Tell people about some real-life examples of how SLOs have helped (or failed!) you, or how they’ve played into interesting experiences or incidents.
4. The Future of SLOs - The advanced stuff. Have you done neat stuff with math and probability to inform your SLOs? Interesting tips and tricks for instrumenting better SLIs? Share with the world how to level up their SLO game.
