Elevator Pitch
Majority of privacy issues that a website or app will face are operational, product design, or revenue problems. Making privacy is a strategic product concern, key to digital businesses and should be treated as such, not a nuisance to be lawyered away. Thus, “product privacy” is critical all round!
Description
The problem we’re facing is simple: privacy is a product issue, but it’s predominantly being treated as a compliance problem.
Not your everyday privacy topic and talk! Of privacy technical implementation, particularly in SDLC, by developers, engineers, architects and product managers as part of product governance.
I start with the “why” of a health-tech app, and product logic conceptualized, with privacy design strategies in play. Then applying relevant privacy design patterns in the app design and development to actually embed privacy in the app build.
Thereafter, in testing mode, consider privacy-friendly data transfer and test environment before go-live with applied privacy-enhancing technologies. Coupled with operational and user privacy features and functionalities supporting privacy-by-default.
This talk will is a peak on how I helped integrate privacy (legal) requirements into the phases of DevOps engineering, for a health-tech app client. Call this, DevPrivOps!
Notes
Looking forward to impressing upon the audience real privacy-by-design in practice, applied thought process, methods and tools to get started or accelerate product governance.
