Bio

Dr. Medeiros is a researcher, educator and practicing civil engineer in the field of water resources. His research focuses on the application of geospatial data fusion, the integration of satellite remote sensing, laser scanning, photogrammetry, and field measurements, in the context of water resources, especially natural hazards including hurricane storm surge and flooding. To get all of this done, he relies heavily on high performance and high throughput computing, another active area of research. He teaches a variety of engineering courses at UCF including engineering mechanics, land surveying and numerical methods. In addition, he is also a consultant to engineering companies seeking his expertise in hydrologic data analysis, GIS, stormwater modeling and design, and coastal hydrodynamic modeling. In his spare time he enjoys playing with his wife and kids, working around the house, and playing ice hockey.
