Bio
I’m a legal and digital humanist nerd with three MAs (law, public policy, cultural history), an MSt in European economics, and an MPhil in applied AI. For fifteen years, I’ve worked in IP and tech law, but my real passion is exploring how openness and ethics can shape technology for the better. I’m currently turning my MPhil work into a PhD on open access AI—because I really can’t resist the big questions. I’m lucky enough to live in Italy, where between art and food there’s always something to appreciate. When I’m not locked in a university classroom, you’ll find me trying to make AI a little more free and ethical, one bit at a time. Favorite member of One Direction? Probably the one who’d pick GNU/Linux over MacOS—or, if that person doesn’t exist, then the one who loves strawberry and green apple ice cream.
