Bio
As a Principal Software Engineer at Microsoft I have spent more than 18 years developing secure scalable cloud-native systems. My expertise includes solving large-scale security and infrastructure problems through my work on designing platforms that process over one billion secure requests daily and building isolated build environments to stop insider threats in software supply chain security risks. My research output includes multiple papers about cloud-native security and confidential computing and my recent work focuses on using Generative AI to detect zero-day vulnerabilities in container images.
Why should I matter to you? My security expertise extends beyond discussions because I actively construct secure systems while making them scalable and helping others implement them. My approach to security combines hands-on implementation with open knowledge sharing and technical excellence with practical application.
And if you’re wondering - my favorite member of One Direction? Definitely Niall. Understated, consistent, and quietly delivers - just like a good CI/CD pipeline.
