Bio

My name is Scott Lundgren. I am a member of the founding team at Carbon Black (Cb) and am currently the Chief Architect at Cb.

I’ve lived on both US coasts, the deep south, and the midwest. I’ve built and operated security systems in both offensive and defensive capacities. I like Toyota pickup trucks, middle brow beer, and trying to do the right things for the right reasons. I think building rootkits is a great way to understand operating systems.

I’m passionate about the power of transparency and visibility of both code and data to making the Internet more secure. I’m old enough to see bright and energetic people entering the field learn the same learnings repeatedly because there aren’t enough venues for institutional knowledge to be collected in an open way. I’m young enough to want to make a difference. I believe that the era of open security is coming, and I’m really optimistic about the benefits that it will bring.
