Yu Sun obtain a Bachelor of Science in Sun Yat-sen University. He did his PhD in The University of Melbourne, based at Peter MacCallum Cancer Centre. His project was to develop predictive models using machine learning techniques to automatic detection and characterisation of prostate cancer. He has developed the first model in this field to estimate prostate cell density non-invasively from multiparametric MRI at a voxel (pixel in 3D) level. Yu Sun is currently working as a researcher in the Institute of Medical Physics. His research focuses on machine learning techniques on imaging data which bridges the gap between imaging and the underlying biology.
