The practical reality of GDPR

By kim.hindart@citynetwork.eu

Elevator Pitch

There is still a lot of confusion about the basic definitions of GDPR such as what is processing, what is personal data and what makes a international transfer of data to why can the same company be both controller and processor at the same time. This talk will try to connect the dots of GDPR.

Description

If you just read the law one article at a time you will probably miss a lot of important relations. Such as the same company can be both controller and processor at the same time for the exact same information. How does the relation of subject, controller and processor work? What is personal data and what is processing? What is special categories of personal data and how does they affect you in real practice? What is privacy by design and how does this have practical implications?

Hopefully all this will be a lot clearer.

Notes

This is aimed at explaining the basics of GDPR for IT management but with a focus in real practical implications and solutions.
