Back in 2010 VMware launched vCloud Director. A cloud management platform that brought multi-tenancy capabilities to your vSphere infrastructure. This product was discontinued for general usage. However it is still available for VMware Cloud Providers. In fact it is one of the key components for service providers that offer a VMware Cloud Verified service.
You can find a lot of information online on how to build your own vCloud Director powered cloud but it is less known what the experience is from a customer perspective. As a lot has changed since 2010 so an update is long overdue.
