How gain community's trust

Elevator Pitch

There are many ways we can engage with the community. as attendees, speakers, sponsors, staff. etc

If that community is very important to our strategy, it is most beneficial to become a co-organizer. From the my experience, I will tell you about the “professional distance” to the community.

Description

When some vendors facing the community, there are often money involved. That is a user group rather than a community, and it is a composition of supplier and recipient. There is a sponsor try to control speaker and visitor’s behavior by offering money. My perception is that it should be treated as developer marketing, not developer relations.

Pay attention to the distance to the community. To gain community trust, you need to get inside the community. It means becoming a part of the community beyond the boundaries of competitors with the same awareness of issues, and moving along with the community.
