Bio

Ravi is a long time contributor to the AutoCAD product and Autodesk.

His AutoCAD contributions include being a member of the original team that implemented AcDb, defining the dwg format definition and implementing key aspects of it, Xrefs enhancements and other features.

More recently he has helped modernize the graphics pipeline, including helping drive GPU based implementation for core 2d graphics, and helped start the Fabric (multi-platform AutoCAD) project.

Several of his contributions have been adopted company wide, such as a component dependency tool that used a graph database (Neo4j). His current interests and projects include leveraging product usage data for analytics and insights using a range of tools such as Spark and Graph Databases.
