Who am I?: My name is Ian Knighton. I’m a native of Idaho Falls, ID. I’ve been all over the country, but always ended up back here. I’ve somehow managed to fall backwards through my career going from being a mechanic to a Site Reliability Engineer.
Why do I want people to know about me?: I don’t know that I want people to know about me explicitly, but I like to be a resource whenever I can. I’ve somehow managed to traverse a lot of industries and professions and picked up a lot of neat stories along the way. I’m a huge proponent of breaking down the gates and barriers that keep everyone out of the tech industry. I know a lot of things about a lot of things.
Who’s your favorite member of One Direction?: A survey on the internet says it’s Niall. I think I can back this. I’ll await feedback from my children though, so don’t call me out too fast.
Really, I just love helping people and I’m trying to expand my ability and reach whenever I can. If it wasn’t for mentors, I wouldn’t be where I am today and I would love to try and pay back that bit of karmic debt through any means possible.
