Live and bread the Scrum Values

By Raquel Silva

Elevator Pitch

Sometimes in the rush of the days in the workplace is difficult to keep in mind the Scrum Values. How can we keep our Teams align with the Scrum Values? Why is that so important?

Description

In general, when we explain Scrum to the members of a team or other interested parties, we do not go in depth with the value system on which it is based. However, if we take into account that Scrum is a lightweight framework, where many decisions are left to the team, it is essential to have a system of values that unifies the behaviour.

Learning Objectives:

Understand the values cannot be taken lightly by any member of the Scrum Team, from the Product Owner to the last member of the Dev Team to join the team. The values give direction and meaning to our work, our behaviour and our actions.

Bring the Scrum Values to the Team daily activities.

Look into trying team building activities that focus on improving each of the values that our team happens to need to strengthen.

Notes

This will be an interactive talk in a conversation style.

My work as a Scrum Master and coaching other Scrum Master, Teams and Product Owners: I realise that Scrum Values are often forgotten. We try to get to our Teams to work and we forget to create awareness to the basic values where they should build their Design Team Alliance (DTA) on Top. This is one of the activities I would like to bring to the Audience.
This is talk based on my own experience and peers feedback.
