William Lidster, PhD
William serves as the leader of AAA Washington’s information security and compliance efforts. He is responsible to establish a responsive, dynamic, and flexible program to meet continually changing information security, regulatory, and compliance needs in the organization. William has 25 years of experience in this field, serving in similar roles for Puget Sound Energy, Providence Health and Services, Alaska USA Federal Credit Union, and the State of Alaska’s Department of Public Safety.
William has a Computer Science degree from the US Military Academy at West Point, a Masters in IT and an MBA from University of Maryland, and a PhD in Information Security and Assurance from Capella University.
Outside of his work at AAA, William has published peer-reviewed academic articles on information security topics, is a part-time assistant professor for the University of Washington’s cybersecurity program, and is a board member for Gartner’s CISO advisory practice.
