Bio
Maryam Aly is a software engineering manager and Scala fan. In June 2012, she joined Foursquare as the first female engineer after graduating with honors from Carnegie Mellon’s School of Computer Science. During her tenure, she worked on local search, internationalization, infrastructure, and outreach. After 4.5 years at Foursquare, she was a full stack developer on the Google Forms team and did a brief stint as a full time foosball player. In late 2018, she rejoined Foursquare and the Scala developer community as a senior backend engineer and has since moved into management.
