Bio

Oracle ACE Director Alumnus Dan Morgan is the founder and managing director of DBSecWorx.

Education: In 2009 Morgan retired teaching at the University of Washington where he wrote the Oracle program and served as its primary instructor. In addition to his work at UW Morgan served as an adviser to the outreach program at the University of California Berkeley, as a consultant on Oracle to Harvard University, and as a guest lecturer at numerous universities including the University of Oslo (Norway), the University of Canterbury (New Zealand), Techologico de Costa Rica, and Universidad Latina de Panama. In 2014 Morgan taught a Master Class for IOUG as part of the “New Challenges & Opportunities Facing DBAs” series. Since then Morgan has continued his worldwide travels focusing on the three S’s: Stability, Security, and Scalability with hundreds of presentations in 41 countries since 2008.

User Groups: Morgan is a member of the Board of Directors of the Northern California Oracle Users Group, a co-founder of the Puget Sound Oracle Users Group, and a co-founder of the British Columbia Oracle Users Group (Canada) and the International GoldenGate Oracle Users Group. He has been a member of UKOUG (UK), NYOUG (New York), the International Oracle zSeries SIG, the Oracle RAC SIG, and BAARF Morgan was also the founding Chair of the Washington Software Association’s Database Special Interest Group.

Community: Mr. Morgan is a regular contributor at Oracle conferences and forums around the world presenting at conferences including OpenWorld, Collaborate, ODTUG Kaleidoscope, IOUC International Leadership Conference, and has presented or taught Oracle in Argentina, Brazil, Bulgaria, Canada, Chile, China, Colombia, Costa Rica, Denmark, Ecuador, El Salvador, Estonia, Finland, Germany, Guatemala, Japan, Latvia, Mexico, Netherlands, New Zealand, Norway, Panama, Paraguay, Peru, Serbia, South Korea, Spain, Sweden, Thailand, UK, Uruguay, and the US.
