Esther Gatuma is a Women In Tech servant leader and the Oprah Winfrey Show Season 25 Hero. She formed a volunteer software engineering technical delivery dream team through partnerships with like minded Women In Tech and within a year, their volunteer work had delivered a technology platform that amplified the plight of child bride trafficking survivors in hard to reach remote locations.
Esther’s work has been featured on the Oprah Winfrey Show, ABC News, CBS News and named by the Guardian Newspaper (UK) as an African Woman to Watch where she emerged number 14 out of Top 25 African Women making an impact in the sub-sahara Africa and North America.
Esther is engaged in volunteer work that supports the inclusion of women and girls in technology and innovation ideation, and Governor Mike Beebe of the state of Arkansas congratulated her on behalf of the state of Arkansas for outstanding non-profit volunteer work and compassion for the needy.
In the year 2018, she became a chartered Fellow of the British Computer Society for her innovative international contribution in the tech space. Her volunteer tasks earned her an invitation by Her Majesty The Queen of England to participate in an advisory panel that delivered recommendations for the inclusion of women in tech in 53 commonwealth member countries.
