Bio

Katie is a subject matter expert with more than seven years of experience in the cybersecurity industry, in areas including forensic accounting, insider threat analysis, information assurance, security controls assessments, cyber threat intelligence, and management. Her work has allowed her to support various federal organizations such as the Department of the Air Force, the Centers for Medicare and Medicaid Services (CMS), and the National Institutes of Health (NIH), and she spent four years working directly for the Department of Defense (DoD) at the Defense Cyber Crime Center (DC3).

Through her experience developing and performing security control assessments, as well as threat intelligence and analysis for the DoD, Katie brings a unique understanding of the federal regulations protecting the confidentiality, integrity, and availability of information, as well as the challenges faced by private organizations when seeking to meet those regulations.

Katie received her Master of Science in Cybersecurity from University of Maryland Global Campus, her Bachelor of Science in Accounting from University of Maryland, and is a Certified Information Systems Auditor. She spends most of her free time with friends and family, as well as participating in various hobbies including painting, video games, and reading.
