Crypto's New World Order

By Harsh Ghodkar

Elevator Pitch

“Onboarding a billion people to Crypto”, has been a cliche line used in multiple talks, and building products which are scalable has been the target. The next step towards mass adoption? Regulations in Crypto. Let’s talk about the Geopolitics around crypto and see where it would lead us.

Description

Abstract

Crypto is one of the most significant technological developments of our time, with the potential to reshape the world’s financial systems and power dynamics. Different governments have acted differently towards this new asset. I consider these steps crucial to understanding which next countries can rise to power. We saw a lot of banks going bankrupt, so let’s talk about the changing World Order along with Crypto. This talk is critical for anyone interested in the future of finance and global power dynamics.

Details

I want to highlight and talk about how financial systems have caused a lot of problems and some problems which were so severe that the entire country was left in ruins. Now that we are living through the times of financial crisis, it’s important to talk about how blockchain and cryptocurrencies as technology play a role. Some governments have laid rules about how they would go on tackling and using this tech towards the betterment of the financial systems, some governments have been harsh towards this, and some governments are still waiting to form their policies. I consider these to be crucial times which can help countries be powerful by leveraging this opportunity to the best. I want to talk about my views which I have regarding these actions and also portray a look at how the big picture can look and how these steps might be baby steps in shaping the future of the world.

As a developer, I have always been about building products which are user-friendly and abstract away the complexities of the product so that the user can be happy, but I consider crypto regulations and approaches of different countries would be the next big problem for this industry to tackle. As a developer in the space, I want to talk about this topic as I am concerned about how the industry might be looking like a few years down the line. By gaining a better understanding of the complex intersection of crypto and geopolitics, we can prepare for a world that is rapidly changing and shifting towards decentralization and blockchain technology.

Notes

I have been into Blockchain Development for a few years now and have worked closely with multiple ecosystems and core developers. I have also been part of multiple communities, some communities which are new to crypto, some which are pure degens. This variation of people I have interacted with has given me perspective about how different people react to crypto, how people of different ages, countries etc react to crypto. Combining that experience with all the knowledge I have gained via following news about the governments of various countries and huge organizations’ take towards crypto is something which puts me as a potential candidate to throw light towards this topic. I have also been putting my views towards such news over various socials where I tend to view the bigger picture about how these regulations can help shape the future of the countries/organizations.

Hoping Web3Conf can be an excellent conference for me to present my views.
