Bio

Mesrenyame is an Open Source community builder and STEM Education advocate from Ghana who loves the power that technology can put in people’s hands. She wants to help create more awareness, through community building and advocacy. She is passionate about open source community building and has contributed to the Django Software Foundation and the Python Software Foundation. She has served on the organizing teams of Python Ghana, PyCon Ghana, and PyCon Africa.

As a result of her tenacity and commitment to contributing to open source communities in Africa, she was nominated and is a fellow at the Python Software Foundation, an Individual Member at the Django Software Foundation, a recipient of a Python Software Foundation Community Service Award, and a Google Open Source Peer Bonus Award.

She has been a speaker at some international conferences such as EuroPython, PyCode, and Mozilla Festival. When she is not contributing to open source, she is inspiring the next generation of Women in STEM at Mesrenyame & FRIENDS - Girls in STEM, because she believes that women, technology, and education need to come together as strongly as possible, and will do whatever she can to help create a future in which they do.
