Bio
I’ve been involved with Rails since version 2 where I built my first platform, which is still operational to this day. I grew up to build platforms until the end of the internet. Things like fllcasts.com and buildin3d.com started a decade ago and are operational.
Not everything was perfect in my path with rails. There were ups and downs. I had my dark moments around Rails 5 and Rails 6 where I was close to start sharing stories of how horrible Rails is. Not because of the framework, no…. but we know why, don’t we. The JS mess that we’ve been through with webpack, webpacker and all the rest. I remember I personally reported dozens of issues during this time. It is great to look back and have the whole picture now of how well it turned out at the end, but during this time… it was bad.
My point is that I’ve been critical about Rails and critical to myself for choosing to base my business on Rails as a rather small company delivering services on the internet. But we kind of sticked together and we emerged so so strong from it and my love for Rails has never been stronger.
