At the earlier stage of my tech career the word ‘Open Source” sounded very strange and unfamiliar to me because of course it wasn’t a common word and practice.This section walks attendees through on best practices to Open Source Contribution,hence fostering Open Source Contribution among developers.

Description

A prevalent misconception about contributing to open source is that you need to contribute code. In fact, it’s often the none code parts of a project that are most overlooked. It is usually not just code! To get your contributions accepted/merged, there are some need to know practices a techie has to have on his/her finger tips. This session typically walks you through best practices on increasing your chances on getting your first PR merged! Session outline includes:

1) Intro to Open Source. 2) What should I contribute? 3) Finding the right projects to contribute. 4) How to submit your contributions. 5) Summary.
