Mosh when you're in the pit

By Colin Dean

Elevator Pitch

Mosh is the mobile shell, a wrapper around SSH that mitigates latency and disconnections problems. This lightning talk will introduce folks to Mosh and leave everyone immediately wanting to use it forever.

Description

Remote terminal application that allows roaming, supports intermittent connectivity, and provides intelligent local echo and line editing of user keystrokes. Mosh is a replacement for SSH. It’s more robust and responsive, especially over Wi-Fi, cellular, and long-distance links. Colin is so into Mosh that he installs it before he install Vim on every system he can. He’ll introduce it and maybe demo it.

Notes

I’m the best person to talk on Mosh because I’m probably one of a hundred people who knows about it. Of course, that assertion will be false once I give the talk!
