FinOps?! But I just learnt DevOps! Or, Kost Management With FinOps

You care about cloud costs. Your boss does, at least. This is especially true with containerized apps and Kubernetes. The new FinOps discipline is developing using standards to help. This talk covers what’s different, common practices and tools, and a plan to start kost kontrol kosts with FinOps.

Cost is one of the most important concerns in move to cloud. This is especially true with cloud native apps that are running on Kubernetes. What and how you pay for resources is different. The design of apps can be opaque and yet driving most of your costs. The practice of FinOps is solving this problem and, thankfully, it’s being done in the open and with standards. This talk will cover what’s different, common FinOps practices and tools, and give you a plan to start kontrolling kosts with FinOps.
