Description

Interns are a great way to enhance a Development culture. Interns have a cost both in terms of their salary as well as the time it takes to train them. How can we make these programs rewarding both for the intern and for the host company?

I’ve been running an internship program since 2013. In that time I’ve made some mistakes and done some other things right. I now have a program that quickly gets interns producing quality code on high-value projects. I’ll share my thoughts with you on: * hiring interns * developing an intern curriculum for your department * choosing projects for your interns * calculating the ROI of your program

Notes

Technical Requirements: Projector for slides

It’s been part of my full time job since 2013 to train interns. I’ve developed a program from scratch and it’s been a great success at our company.
