Deadline Driven Development - and you can, too!

By David Rovani

Elevator Pitch

This project was not started until after this talk was accepted, so come along as we explore the New Best Way to create software: set an arbitrary deadline, cram in as much work as possible, then give a presentation about it!

Description

A humorous take on TDD, BDD, DDD, and other “driven development” techniques, this talk and project wasn’t even started before the proposal was accepted. Everything you’ll see was done with as little prior knowledge as possible, including: development environment, programming language, project scope, color scheme, or even a logo!

Notes

This submission is very much intended to be a tongue-in-cheek, humorous lightning talk to help break up a conference day. I won’t be selecting any of the criteria for the project until after this talk is accepted, which means suggestions are definitely welcome. If the organizers don’t have any preferences, then I will solicit ideas from social media to find something fun to do. I’ll talk about the process, the result, and lessons learned, all in the style of a sales pitch for “Deadline Driven Development”.
