Kubernetes and other container / cluster managers are all the rage these days, we would like to show how we ended up using them in our multi cloud setup and why they’re just not enough

Over the past three years, at PerimeterX we’ve seen exponential growth which took us from a few hosts to 7 datacenters in 3 cloud providers hosting over a thousand virtual hosts at peak traffic To reign in all of this growth and complexity we found ourselves utilizing multiple technologies to best manage our cloud setup built around Google Compute Engine, Amazon Web Services and at certain points using Azure and Rackspace as well Over the past year or so, we’ve begun introducing some of the newer cluster management tech. such as Kubernetes We’d like to share where we found them more applicable, and where we ended up using different technologies and tactics as well as where we believe these products should evolve to truly simplify our lives
